    A great success!

It was a wonderful turnout for the two holiday markets on Saturday December 6 and 13th. The market was held in the big garage attached to the law offices of Williams, Welser and Kratcoski LLC at 11 South River Street in downtown Kent — generously provided by the law firm. The December 6th market was coordinated with the downtown Festival of Lights and the Kent Art Walk, both sponsored by Standing Rock Cultural Arts and the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce.

We had close to 30 vendors for both events, and live music during the market, making it a perfect social destination before the holidays. Light snow and an early cold snap made it feel even more festive, and made us doubly appreciate the big propane heaters on generous loan from Riverside Wine.

Thank you to all of the vendors for putting together such wonderful products for our holiday shoppers, and thank you to everyone who trekked out in the cold and snow to visit the market. It couldn’t have happened without you.

There are a lot of new ideas percolating for the market in 2009. See you in the spring!
